Mandatory Vehicle Equipment | Slovakia 2025

Vehicles running on LPG/CNG must display the appropriate label at the rear (and front/right door for M2/M3).

Motorcycles

First-aid kit required (except small <50cc engines & max 45 km/h). Helmet must meet ECE 22.10 standard.

First-aid Kit Types

• Motorcycles: L3e–L5e and L7e categories
• Passenger cars, vans, tractors: M1, N, T, C, PS
• Buses: M2, M3

Quads (T3b)

• Fire extinguisher (6 kg min)
• Warning triangle
• High-vis clothing
• First-aid kit
• Wheel guards (2/3 coverage), splash guards
• Trailer weight & tyre pressure marking
• Speed limiter if exceeding 90 km/h

Reflective Clothing Colours

Accepted colours:

• Fluorescent yellow
• Fluorescent orange-red
• Fluorescent red

Minimum one reflective item per vehicle. Everyone exiting must wear one.

Child Transport

Car seat mandatory under 150 cm. Exceptions: 2 rear seats already occupied by car seats – older child (3+ years) may use belt only.

Fines

Missing mandatory items may result in a fine of approx. €60.
