Editing & Fines
Bulgarian Vignettes Editing
Unfortunately, you cannot edit any of the e-vignette details after purchase.
You cannot change start dates or transfer the vignette to another vehicle. You cannot cancel it either. If a vignette is purchased with incorrect details, a new one must be bought with the correct information.
All of the data within Bulgarian vignettes must be correct before payment.
Bulgarian Vignettes Control of use
In Bulgaria, vignette usage is monitored and controlled by camera systems and mobile patrols.
The Bulgarian roads are operated by 295 fixed cameras and 105 cars, which control vehicles on a 24/7 basis. The Bulgarian system checks the registration number of the car and verifies whether the e-vignette has been paid or not. The same goes for the correct type of charge.
Control of the payment of vignette and toll is carried out by the employees of the National Toll Administration, the Ministry of Interior, as well as the Customs Agency when the road vehicle leaves the territory of Bulgaria via a border crossing point.
Bulgarian Vignettes Fines
If you have not paid a vignette charge (road vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes) in Bulgaria, you will most likely be subject to a penalty.
- Fines in Bulgaria range from 300 BGN to 3000 BGN (€150 - €1500)
- First-time offenders may pay a compensatory fee (~€36) and buy a vignette on the spot
