Road tolls in Romania | Map

In Romania, tolls are charged on all roads outside cities. The electronic system applies to motorways, expressways, national (E) roads, county and communal roads.

It covers both vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and vehicles above 3.5 tonnes. Rates depend on vehicle category, gross weight and validity period of the vignette.

The system is managed by CNAIR (Compania Națională de Administrare a Infrastructurii Rutiere).

Additional tolls in Romania | Bridges

Several bridges require an additional fee. For example, the Fetești–Cernavodă Bridge: a return trip costs 26 RON (~€5) for passenger cars and 94 RON (~€19) for vehicles over 3.5 t.

Other paid Danube bridges include:

  • Giurgiu (RO) – Russe (BG),

For ferry crossings (e.g. Bechet–Oreahovo) foreign drivers must pay in EUR or USD, while locals may pay in RON.
