Instructions 4 simple steps

  • Attach the holder to the toll box.
  • Clean the spot on the windscreen where you will mount the device*
  • Remove the film from the adhesive strip.
  • Press the holder with the device firmly against the windscreen.

Note – coated windscreen

For coated windscreens, the device must be mounted in the uncoated recess (usually marked with dots — see the vehicle manual). In cabover motorhomes and with no coating/no heated windscreen, we recommend mounting centrally ~15 cm above the dashboard.

Motorcycle How to carry the device?

The toll box can be used on a motorcycle. We recommend placing it in a tank bag, protecting it from rain and cold, facing forwards (direction of travel).

Height and weight – special rules in France

In France, the category at the gate depends on the actual height (without add-ons) and the actual mass at the time of passage (not GVW). For motorhomes, the reference thresholds are 3.0 m height and 3.5 t mass.

Examples of device selection (FR)
Actual mass Height Device variant
3.5 t 2.95 m maut1 up to 3 m – works
3.6 t 2.95 m maut1 up to 3 m – The offered toll boxes couldn’t be used
3.2 t 3.05 m maut1 up to 3 m – works
3.2 t 3.06 m maut1 up to 3 m – The offered toll boxes couldn’t be used
  • Measured: the bare vehicle height (without racks/add-ons) and the actual mass while driving.
  • ≥ 3 axles: vehicles with at least 3 axles always require the “above 3 m” variant (a tandem counts as 1 axle).
  • Trailer: has no impact on the choice of toll box variant.
  • Austria (variant > 3 m): when ordering, data from the registration certificate is required.

Tip

These are recommendations without guarantee — the final classification is made automatically at the gate. Check the vehicle data in the documents. Many newer motorhomes are under 3 m.
