The whole process takes a few minutes — after that the device does the work for you at every gate.

Choose a variant and have it delivered to your address (DHL). You link an automatic payment method.
Mount it on the windscreen
Attach the device to its holder and stick the set in the recommended spot on the front windscreen.
Drive through the gate
The gate antenna communicates with the device — the barrier opens automatically and the trip is recorded.
Settlement
The operator sends the transactions to our system and at the end of the month we prepare one consolidated invoice.

Supported countries
Practical information on using the device in each supported country — which lanes to use, what to avoid and what to know before you travel.
Italy
Italy's motorway network (approx. 6,700 km) is one of the densest in Europe. The device works with the Telepass system — use lanes marked with a yellow letter “T”. You pass through them at up to 30 km/h, and on dedicated “Telepass Free” lanes at up to 100 km/h.
Sicily: Premium only, including the Villa San Giovanni–Messina ferry. Standard does not cover Sicily. Main toll sections: A1 (Milan–Rome–Naples), A4 (Turin–Venice–Trieste), A22 (Brenner), A26 (Genoa).

France
France uses a closed system — the toll depends on the distance travelled. Use lanes marked with the letter “t” (Télépéage / Liber-t) and pass through without stopping at up to 30 km/h.
Flux Libre: on sections without toll gates (e.g. A79, A13/A14) the device records the trip automatically. Without a device you must pay online within 72 hours — the most common trap for drivers.

Spain
Spain's motorway network is private — each operator sets its own rates. Use lanes marked “Telepeaje”, “VIA-T” or “T”. The device also works in designated parking areas.
Note: many sections (e.g. the former AP-7, AP-2 and AP-4) have become toll-free in recent years — check the status on dgt.es before you travel.

Portugal
Relative to its size, Portugal has one of the densest motorway networks in Europe. The device works on all lanes in the Via Verde system.
Electronic-only motorways: on the former SCUT roads (e.g. the A22 in the Algarve and several motorways around Porto) there are no toll booths. Without a device you have to register a card with EasyToll, buy a TollCard or pay after the trip at a CTT post office or Payshop outlet. The Lisbon bridges (25 de Abril and Vasco da Gama) have regular toll booths — with the device you use the Via Verde lane without stopping.

Croatia
In Croatia the device works on motorways run by HAC (e.g. the A1 Zagreb–Split) on lanes marked “ENC”. Croatia is covered by the Premium variant only.
Limits: vehicles up to 3 m high and 3.5 t. Istria is not covered yet.

Mounting
Mounting the device on the front windscreen
- 1Attach the holder to the toll box.
- 2Clean the spot on the windscreen where you will mount the device.
- 3Remove the film from the adhesive tape.
- 4Press the holder with the device firmly onto the windscreen.
Note — coated windscreens
On coated windscreens mount the device in the uncoated area (usually marked with dots — check your vehicle manual). In alcove motorhomes without coating and without a heated windscreen we recommend mounting it centrally, about 15 cm above the dashboard.
How to carry the device?
The device can be used on a motorcycle. We recommend keeping it in a tank bag, protected from rain and cold, facing forward in the direction of travel.
Vehicle classification
Height and weight — special rules in France
In France the category charged at the gate depends on the actual vehicle height (without roof add-ons) and the actual weight at the time of the trip — not on the maximum permitted weight. The nominal thresholds for motorhomes are 3 m and 3.5 t, but according to maut1 the small device works in practice up to 3.05 m in height and 4.5 t in weight, with at most 2 axles.

- Measured: vehicle height without roof racks and add-ons, and actual weight while driving.
- ≥ 3 axles: vehicles with at least 3 axles always require the “over 3 m” variant (a tandem axle counts as one).
- Trailer: does not affect the choice of device variant.
- Austria (variant > 3 m): vehicle registration details are required when ordering.
Tip
These are recommendations without guarantee — the final classification happens automatically at the gate. Check your vehicle details in the registration document. Many newer motorhomes are below 3 m.

Good to know
The device needs neither internet nor Bluetooth. It communicates directly with the gate antenna via 5.8 GHz radio waves — it works regardless of mobile coverage.
Changing the vehicle
Do you have a device for vehicles up to 3 m? You can move it to another car — just log in to your customer account and update the vehicle details. You don't need to order a new device.
Contract information
Standard: a one-year contract that renews automatically for another year unless you return the device before then. Premium: the first year is a contract billed monthly — even if you return the device early; after the first year a monthly notice period applies. The device fee does not include road tolls — these are billed separately, based on your actual trips. You will see current prices in the configurator.
Official operator and EETS standard
The device works in the European EETS system (EU Directive 2019/520) and is operated by the authorised partner maut1. Service, invoicing and support are provided in German and English.
Frequently asked questions
Does the device work straight after delivery?
Yes. The device arrives active and ready to use — no setup or pairing needed. Just mount it on the front windscreen as instructed and you can use the automatic lanes.
Does the device replace the vignette in Austria, Czechia or Slovakia?
No. These countries charge for motorway use with vignettes, not at toll gates. The toll box covers gate tolls in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and Croatia. Driving to Italy through Czechia and Austria, for example, you need vignettes and the toll box separately. You can buy vignettes on Autopay Mobility.
How do I mount the device on the windscreen correctly?
Attach the device to the holder, clean the mounting spot on the windscreen, remove the film from the adhesive tape and press the holder onto the windscreen. The recommended spot is the top centre of the front windscreen, behind the rear-view mirror. On coated windscreens mount the device in the uncoated area, usually marked with dots.
What happens if I enter a “T” lane without a working device?
The barrier will not open. Press the intercom button at the gate — staff will help you pay by card or cash. Never force your way through a closed barrier: in Italy, France and Spain this results in a fine. On sections without gates in France and Portugal you have to pay for the trip yourself within the set deadline.
Can I use the device on a motorcycle?
Yes. We recommend carrying it in a tank bag, protected from rain and cold, facing forward in the direction of travel.
How are trips billed?
The gate detects the device and records the trip. The road operator sends the transactions to our system, we charge your linked payment method, and at the end of the month you receive one consolidated invoice for trips in all countries.
What about vehicles higher than 3 m or heavier than 3.5 t?
The device offered is intended for vehicles up to 3 m high. In France, according to maut1, it works in practice up to 3.05 m (without roof add-ons) and 4.5 t actual weight, with at most 2 axles — above these limits or with 3 or more axles the device will not work for the vehicle. In Croatia the limit is 3 m and 3.5 t. These are recommendations without guarantee; the final classification happens at the gate.
Can I move the device to another car?
Yes, for vehicles up to 3 m just log in to your customer account and update the vehicle details. You don't need to order a new device.
Does the device need internet or charging?
No. The device has a built-in battery that lasts approx. 5–7 years of standard use and communicates with the gate via 5.8 GHz radio waves. It needs neither internet, Bluetooth nor power from the vehicle.
