About the Hungarian D1 vignette for a year

Vignette validity How long is the annual vignette valid?

An annual vignette is valid from the moment of purchase (from the first day of the year when bought in advance) until midnight on 31 January of the year following the one it covers.

Blue pointer Example 1

A vignette for 2026 is valid until midnight on 31-01-2027.

Blue pointer Example 2

A vignette for 2026 bought in December 2025 runs from 01-01-2026 to 31-01-2027.

*The annual vignette is tied to a calendar year, not to 365 days from purchase. Bought mid-year it covers less time, always ending on 31 January of the following year.

Buy before you enter

You may only enter a toll section with a valid vignette. Drivers who enter a toll road by mistake have 60 minutes from entry to buy the authorisation.

Compatibility Is this vignette suitable for my vehicle?

Buy this vignette if your vehicle meets the category D1 conditions:

  • it is a passenger car with a maximum authorised mass up to 3.5 tonnes,
  • it is registered for no more than 7 people including the driver,
  • its registration certificate shows category M1 or M1G.

  • start date of the vignette validity,
  • the vehicle registration number,
  • the country of registration.
