About electronic vignettes

Where are e-vignettes valid?

E-vignettes are valid in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Switzerland and Hungary. These countries use an electronic toll system, which means vignettes are no longer sold as windshield stickers. Road charges are paid through each country’s electronic system. The vignette is linked to your vehicle registration plate, and roadside cameras check whether your vehicle is allowed to use the route. If the system detects that the vehicle has no valid vignette, a fine is issued and sent to the registered owner.

How do I choose the right vignette for my vehicle?

Because road rules vary between countries, it’s important to make sure the vignette matches your vehicle. Before purchasing a vignette, we recommend carefully reading the information shown during checkout—especially the vehicle category. Issues with incorrect charges can happen because in some countries the up-to-3.5-tonne class is further split into sub-categories. This applies to three countries: Hungary, Slovenia and Romania.
